When James Chambers and his colleagues discovered a new myxobacterium in North Wales in 2020, they noted that they’d found it near Llanfairpwll­gwyn­gyll­go­gery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch, the village with the longest name in Europe.

So they named it Myxococcus llanfair­pwll­gwyn­gyll­go­gery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­gochensis.
